Authorities say an Altoona man has been sentenced to spend up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to his involvement in the fatal overdose of a 42-year-old man last March.

David McCool was one of six individuals charged last November following an investigation into two separate fatal overdoses.

On Monday, officials say McCool entered a guilty plea in his case and was sentenced to serve 3 to 10 years in prison.

Authorities say he must also serve 10 years of probation and he is eligible for the state's drug treatment program.
